The warning is coming on because the SID computer is sensing a bad resistance in the circuit. Bad could mean too high a resistance, which would be the case when one bulb burns out. It might also mean too low resistance such as a short circuit to ground (but you would blow a fuse for this) or to using bulbs with too low a resistance. One possibility - are the tail light connections reversed so that the brake pedal is turning on the tail lights (which have lower wattage) instead of the brake lights? I don't know if teh computer is sensitive enough to measure the difference in resistance for the different bulbs.
