I have thought that, yes. My SET is black/black, so I figured some of the lack of cooling was due to the color. Summers aren't that bad here in PA, so I don't have a really good comparison. I had a silver SHO when I lived down in Virginia Beach that did seem to do a better job of cooling, but I can't quantify that.
I don't have too many complaints about the heat, though. It's worlds better then the Scirocco I had before this car. The Scirocco would only output heat through the center dash vent! That made for cold feet here with the central PA winters.
The ACC isn't nearly as good at keeping the proper cabin temp as the ACC in my SHO. I only had to change the temperature setting in that car a couple of degrees between summer and winter, say 72 +/- 2 degrees. With my Saab I normally have it at 72, but on warm days I have to click it down to 66-68 to be comfortable, and on cold days I have to set it up in the upper 70's.
Where in the south are you? How cold is cold? It was 18 degrees here driving to work this morning.
