The original battery style has a drop dowm section for the terminals. These types cost much more. You can put in a conventional configuration, and the cables can sit a bit higher, and possibly press or deflect the hood liner a bit.
My dealer fitted such a battery a couple of years ago. They put in a big one. They stuck a Saab battery sticker on it too! Too long, otherwise fine. The upper rad host touches it, and probably heats it up. These batteries get too hot in the summer as it is. This is why they need water 2 or 3 times per year.
There were stories years ago where Sears would force folks into the orignal battery style which was expensive, and spin stories about the warranty not applying for other batteries which might fit well. They probably have gotten over that crap by now.
Hopefully someone will post an exact battery group that you can use. Don't forget that you will need your radio code!
