Switch rests against brake pedal under dash. Do you get a message to test brake lights on SID when you start up? If yes, does message go away when you push brake pedal? If yes, switch is working OK and problem is more complex to solve. (Above procedure is useless if you have programmed SID to not show the test at startup). I assume you checked fuse 17 which is supply to brake lights. Also check fuse 12 which feeds brake light switch. After that, it gets complex as the control module (computer) gets into the circuitry.
