Despite having engineers that design jet aircraft (that go REAL FAST through the air), Saab dedicated the morons to design the trim strips around the windshield.
Across the top of the windshield is a flexible rubber/plastic strip. It is supposed to clip into place. The clipping action don't work. Saab's remedy is to use real strong windshield glue and just glue the darn thing down. I suggest the same. If you can't get professional windshield glue, use silicone goop meant for aquariums. Low odour, bonds well. You can probably find the technical bulletin at http://www.townsendimports.com (a saabnet supporter - please patronize them).
Wait - there's more:
Along both sides are plastic trim strips. They do the same. The clipping action isn't terribly good. I believe Saab's response is to get new plastic strips and clips. I've just removed mine completely (they're cosmetic only, though perhaps act to channel rain water over the side windows - hmm, must check) and I'll glue them down with aquarium silicone goop on a warm day.
cheers and enjoy the saab.
Oh, sorry I forgot - you don't have Trionic. That's an engine management system on the turbo 4 cylinders. With your 6 cylinder, change oil, use the best oil and if in doubt - change the timing belt. Did I mention - change the timing belt. and don't forget - change the timing belt. Use a real Saab belt and it might not hurt (read extended warranty) to have this done by a real Saab dealer. Change the belt.
