My 1998 900SET automatic had a weird maoning noise and a pronounced vibration at idle when the AC was on. The moaning and vibration would go away if I pressd the ECON button.
The first time I took the car in I was told the noise and vibration were normal, something about the AC mounts and Saab fixed it in the 9-3, yada...yada... yada. At each oil change I would give a written list of "problem' to the Service Writer, mainly minor fit and finish stuff, but always including the AC noise and vibration. After the third visit, the noise and vibration were gone. The repair order stated that they changed the cooling fan and cooling fan relay.
The noise and vibration are gone so that is good. I can understand how the cooling fan could cause the vibration, but how the fan would make the moaning noise I don't know.
