My diaphragm on my passenger side windshield check valve was completely shot. I attempted to find a household material to make a replacement, and after some trial and error I settled on the plastic film that covers your pictures in a photo album (that stuff that you peel back, put your pictures on the adhesive crap and then put the plastic back down over it). So far so good, I was so psyched when I tried my fix out and it worked like a charm. Don't know what the longevity of the fix will be like, but for $0, I'm pleased.
Today I am going to attempt to fix the valve for the headlights, as it seems that something is wrong because the fluid is leaking all over the bumper behind the grille. According to another post, I guess I have to remove the parking and headlight on the driver side, and after attempting to work on it w/o doing that it seems like hes right. I'll let you know how that works, and if any more exploring leads to the discovery of the rear check valve.
