One of the first things I did was removing the "V6" badge in the front grill. Who's business is it that I can afford a V6? Nobody needs to know but me and my mechanic. I have considered removing the "Saab" and the "900" on the hatch, but haven't bothered so far. On my previous car, a Ford Probe, I removed everything but the Ford logos (as they were "sunken" into the sheet metal, just like the Saab/Scania badges).
My father used to order his BMTroubleYou company cars without the type designation - a common practice in Germany - especially on higher end models. The dealer had told him that the badges are sometimes stolen, leaving sratch or scuff marks behind. To my big surprise, my Dad's latest car, a fully loaded 528i, does have the type designation on it. I wonder, if he forgot...
