I put my own wire through the grommets after taking one look at the existing multi plug and deciding it would be nearly impossible to do! And Ed's right, it's very tricky to do!
On the driver's side, to make enough room to maneuver I had to remove the fuse panel. On the passenger's side, I removed the glove box and the vent duct. And it was still extremely tight.
