your talking about the 7.5 amp fuse, right? -- number 29?? (maybe??)
I had the same thing recently (dashlights, heater control light, etc. kept going out) and what I finally did was hot-wire the female end of the electrical harness that plugs into the rheostat. if I recall correctly, #7 is the 12 volts, and I linked it to all the other connections -- except for the ground.
I posted the question about a month ago and one response indicated that they had a cold-solder, but I couldn't identify one on mine and the rheostat appears to be a dainty piece of electronics.
the local saab shop said this hot-wiring was okay to do and even gave me a 'blank' button -- to replace where the rheostat was located.
I guess I'm too cheap to pay $85 for a new rheostat -- especially since I never use the dimmer -- always running with the dash lights at full brightness. the local shop would have sold me a used one for $35, but they didn't have any.
give the hot-wire a temporary try to truely rule out the rheostat. like I said, things would work fine for a while and then all would go out. apparently, something was heating up and breaking the connection.
