I've got a 1995 (the first year of the new generation) and I've had some issues with my top, as have others on this board.
I've heard that the top was redesigned for 1997, so you might want to look there. I have been able to fix most of the problems I've had myself, but it depends on your risk tolerance. These repairs can be extremely expensive.
