On my 9-3 convertible I have the Konis and the Abbotts and 215/45/17s. The Konis are at the softest setting. The ride is not at all harsh. Indeed, I would say because of the improved damping of the Konis it is even less harsh than the stock setup. Over a rough patch of pavement, the stock setup would bounce the car all over the place to the point of almost being scary sometimes. The new setup takes these stretches much more in stride. I am very pleased with the reductions in body roll and dive. Turn-in is improved as well. I realized alot of this is subjective but I cannot recommend this upgrade enough.
