I don't know if there is any possible adjustment. My '96 900SET has the most accurate fuel gauge of any car I've owned, when I use it in conjunction with the SID. When the orange gas pump lamp lights, I know I have almost invariably exactly 4 gallons left, and when SID shows 0 miles to empty, I have exactly 2 gallons left. I'm sure you are aware that SID's 0-miles-to-empty is designed to indicate a 2-gallon reserve, not a dry tank.
At least the errors your gauge shows are on the conservative side, i.e. you have more gas than indicated, not less.
