Have you checked the plugs? I have a 96 900SE-Turbo, and I can assure you that the CE light is a pretty common accurance on these cars. I replaced the engine inlet temp sensor the last time the light was coming on and the light went off for about 3000 miles. It just came on again last week(argggghhhh). I can say that is usually nothing to worry about. Ask the dealer to run the Tech II diagnostic on the car, it should pinpoint the exact problem. But, to avoid the $$$ try to knock out some simple solutions yourself. Add a can of Chevron Techron to the tank, clean the plugs(or replace them) make sure to use the NGK(look up to see the exact type). It's very important that you use the correct type of plug and the proper gap. I cannot stress it enough, if you don't it could cause the DI cassette to go out which is costly(around $300 to replace). But, be aware that there are some that drive around with the CE light on for years with the car acting fine, if you find yourself doing this just place a piece of black electrical tape over it ;) I think it's an overly sensitive CE light. You can also turn the key on without starting the engine, the number of times that the CE light blinks is a code(see past post for the code diagnostics). There are a number of things it could be, or it could be nothing beyond adding the cleaner and replacing the plugs. Good luck, and search on the board for more indept advice.
