How to run the 12awg wire from front to back?

I am in the process of installing a hitch to my 98 900set along with a modulite wiring adapter for the lights. The modulite adapter is a device that draws power from the car battery to power the trailer lights and does not rely on the car's harness to supply current.
To wire this thing up requires that a 12awg wire be run from the battery to the trunk. Has anyone done such a thing out there in the past? What is the best way to run the wire where it cannot be seen?
