This is a common misconception... People think that the newer cars are less stiff than the old beefier looking cars. Well, guess what. Tests by Saab show that the NG900 is MUCH stiffer and has much better crash protection than the old 900. If you don't believe me, then go read the NG900 design book by Anders Tunberg.
