Engine Hiccups during idle-Conclusion (A Cautionary Tale)

A week I posted a problem that I was having with my 96 900SET. It was expereincing 'hiccups' (best way to describe it) while idleing. During these episodes, the internal lights would fade, then come back. I had the spark plugs changed at last oil change, the battery was in good shape, and I was using a techroline gas.
When my mechanic opened up the spark plug compartment, he found water inside.
It seems that somewhere during a recent heavy storm, I hit a big puddle that threw up a lot of water into the engine. There is a drain to the compartment, but it is only on the driver's side. The way I am forced to park my car (neighborhood restrictions) puts my car on a slight hill, and leaning slightly to the right. The water never had a chance to drain, and screwed up the spark plug firing.
$470 dollars to fix a water problem.
