Wind noise in cabin fixed.
Posted by Carlos Blasco (more from Carlos Blasco) on Fri, 16 Feb 2001 03:51:10
At least both, my dealer and I, have fixed the wind noise problem on the right side of my 9-3. As I promise you I am going to write here the solution.
What my dealer did was to cover with a plastic strip several parts of the car till the found the problem. They have changed the guide of the door glass not the one that is on the bottom, the other one that is, looking inside, from the left bottom corner to the right upper corner.
I had the problem at 160 kph / 100 mph without wind and 140 kph / 87 mph on windy days.
Yesterday I tested the car at 180 kph / 112 mph and… there was no noise. I could not believe it but it was true. Anyway this weekend I will test it again but I can say that before changing the guide always the noise appeared. It is not necessary to say how happy I am.
