Yesterday I had my 94 900S 2.3L TECH II tested for the SRS fault. They said that it was the SRS module between the seats that malfunctioned. Price for repair was $1850 CAN plus labour. Ouch. Funny thing is, two weeks before, I went in to buy a new car, they only offered me $2000 for a trade-in! I guess I am going to live the the binking light for another year.....
BTW, here is some history with the problem:
2 years ago, there was a sulfur smell inside the car. By the time I fugured out it was the battery burning up because the bridge-rectifyer on the alternator failed, the SRS light started to blink.
Replaced alternator and battery, dealer reset the SRS fault. Everything ok. 2 months later, SRS light blinking. Leasurely troubleshooted connections, slip ring, seat belts (thanks to Flemming W for your suggestions).
Anyone want a 94 Saab?
