I am in the Air Force and I had no problems shipping my 95 Escort GT over here in '97. I don't know if you ship the same way as we do but, the shipper should not allow you to have anything loose in the car, i.e. a sealed box like DRW is saying. Also, there can be no spare parts or anything else loose in the car. If you have a radar detector, definitely leave as they are illegal in most, if not all of Europe and the fine for having one, for example, here in Germany, comes out to about $2500! Insurance or not, I recommend pulling out a stereo if it is aftermarket, unless you want to have to replace it. I didn't have any problems but I have heard of many who did have things taken. Otherwise the worse that could happen is the ship could sink!!! It did happen this year, I think they lost around 130 vehicles!
Anyways, I am in southwest Germany and will be here for a few more years. Perhaps we''l have to road trip and meet in the middle somewhere. Speaking of, my wife and I are roadtripping down to northern Italy the first week of March. I am looking forward to seeing the Ferrari and Lamborghini museums. Later.
