Ordered new plugs and fuel filter to change on my car. All parts came from Eeuroparts,(NGK plugs, bosh filter). Following the change, I noticed when I came back to my car,('98 nonturbo 2.3) from being in the store for around 30-45mins, it would not start. I held the key for few seconds..no start....then released. When I tried the key the second time it fired right over. Today I was shopping with the wife,(shortly put alot varoius stops around town). Each time, same situation, first try to start then stop and hit the key a second time and it would start right up.
When I got home I pulled the plugs and they looked fine.....chk'd gap and it was set to .025,(what my book says). However,I decided to put the old plugs back in to try to eliminate the cause but the problem is still there.
The only thing I hven't changed is the new fuel filter. I've never had one that was bad, guess there is always a first time. Is there something I've missed or should check? The symptoms occured the day after the new parts. The only other thing is is unusually hot temps, low 90's these past few days.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions on what is causing this.
