this site I looked at the various vacuum lines and did find one that had been chafed by vibrating against a car body part (the tubing guide's zip tie had come away from the hose it was wrapped around). I replaced the vacuum line, started and ran the car for a bit but the CEL didn't go off. So before I disconnected the battery I made sure I hade the radio code handy and then disconnected the battery for 2 hours. I reconnected it, punched in the radio codes and went for a drive - Woohoo, the CEL was off and stayed off. Until yesterday! Damn - I haven't been in to speak nicely to the tech to do a free code check so I'm asking the question without knowing the current code! Is there something else I should have looked at beyond the vacuum line? I did start to look at the charcoal canister, I pulled the right front wheel off but I did not completely remove the 'rear' liner to check for the charcoal canister that I'm told (thanks to this board) is up there. The reason I didn't pull it right off is that the liner appears to be bonded to the fender lip?? Can anyone confirm that I really should pull the liner away from the fender lip to see way up there? And if I do, what do I bond it back with - GOOP seems a bit to 'permanent' - any help would be appreciated on both questions.
