Help: 95 900S Clutch Issues

My 81000mi old 95 900S broke its clutch cable. The car was running great before this happened. I had it towed to the nearest franchise butcher shop (Strauss Auto). They replaced the cable and now there's a horrible noise coming from the engine bay. It sounds like an exhaust system gone bad. It would also pop out off reverse if the lever is not held in place.
They also changed my oil, could they have forgot to fill her up again?
What could have gone wrong? What other items must be looked at when clutch cables go? What does engine without oil sound like?
Help please. I can't buy a new car until the 2nd yr of the 9X!
