I'm the wrong guy to ask, anything I know about it I picked up here from prior posts and hanging out at the auto parts store reading lables. For what it's worth, from what I gather, free advice is worth what you pay for it, etc., you should not use silicone gasket sealant, for whatever reason. I found that out after I did my vc's with silicone sealant. The front I think is leaking again (or else its the camshaft seal, how do I tell?) from January of this year. When I pulled them apart the first time, they both had black sealant all around (this was what the dealer did when they fixed it a while back). So I copied this and put a thin bead of sealant all around. I'll do the same this time, but with different sealant, there seems to be about four kinds. Now that Murray's opened by me, I can actually get some answers from a salesman.
Anyone else know the answer?
