New lore for the many archive threads about auto trannies that can't remember their gears. Mine ('97 SAAB 900SE) was finally solved by changing the "shaftsensor." $135. A lot parts seem to have several names, and so some of you may have suggested the fix. Anyway, I thought I would add one more mane to list. I'm very grateful for all your help. What a list! (& what a car!) Lon Sherer
