On my 95 900 set conv, i just use a large clamp to push the front pistons back.
On the back ones , i pull the the pins off and stick the new pads in without openning any bolts. To be honest , i did them a while a go and dont remember how I pushed the piston and fitted the pads. However, since it is designed to be changed by pulling of pins only, i assume the pistons can siimply be pushed back.
I also use Dan-Block pads from now on.
My 2cents only. Im sure there is tons of info on the brakes on this board.
