the water level is probably a half inch below the tops of the holes, so I'll refill to the meniscus level.
I'm also not that concerned about the coolant leakage amount. I had been seeing some vapor/smoke at idle and there had been a small amount of coolant loss, and I guess I hoped that it was just a leaky clamp. Looks like it might have been both vapor and smoke, with oil burning off the cat and exhaust.
I had the oil pressure sending unit and gasket changed about 6 months ago, so I assume they're still good. There is some slight seepage from the valve cover gaskets, but no other obvious sources of leaking from the block. I have to believe that if a quart had leaked out from the gaskets there would be more apparent. There is a film of oil on the bottom of the pan and drips form on the edge of the heat shield and on the bump by the drain plug.
