If you are in need of replacing backup switch on your 5spd manual transimission and dont want to pay for a new one I think there is a way to fix your old switch. The problem that happens is with age the rubber seal inside the switch wears down and lets the transimission oil into electrical contacts this results in shorting out of that circuit every time you engage a reverse because this oil acts as a conductor between the electrical switch and the alluminum body of the switch that inturns contacts the ground (transmission casing). So to fix the switch you can take it apart and put a new rubber seal. I cut off 2 fingers from rubber gloves and put them over the plastic part of the switch to act as insulator. Unfortunetly I didnt get a chance to try it out becuase I lost one of the small parts during assembly of the sensor. But if someone wants to try it out I think it will work.
