Update on O2 investigation/checking

I decided to follow up Dean's recommendation to check if the O2 is correctly grounded. I measured the resitance between the O2 case and the battery ground and indeed the resistance was not zero. I then measured the resistance between the battery and the exhaust manifold. This was OK, zero. I then measured the resistance between the battery and the down pipe and this was bad. The gasket and the bolts that fixes the downpipe to the exhaust manifold don't make anymore a good electrical contact. I decided to loosen the nuts put some Wd40 and then tighten the nuts back again. The effect now was that there is zero resistance between the ground and O2 sensor case.
I have also taken some measurements of the O2 sensor output voltage with sensor connected and disconnected. With the sensor connected I am getting quite a voltage flactuation ranging from 0.25V to 0.75V which is good. With the O2 disconnected I am now getting voltages in excess of 0.8V. This measurements suggest to me that O2 and lamda control are now working correctly.
I am expecting to see some improvements in fuel consumption and perhaps some improvements in the starting pattern.
