I'm driving a '95 900SE for which has the same wheel size as your '01 93SE.
The recommended tire size for winter is 195-60 15 or 195-65 15. The latter will give better snow traction. I have been running the Michelin Artic Alpins in 195-60 15 for the last three winters. An excellent tire on dry roads and particluarly good on hard packed snow and ice. Not as good in new snow deeper than 2 to 3". At least not as good as my wife's VW Golf which runs on Blizzak MZ02's for the winter. I purchased the Alpin's because deep snow is rare in Toronto - we are usually driving on dry or wet roads, ice or hard-packed snow. The Artic Alpins have a habit of making a high-pitched whine on wet roads. This is not as bad as it seems - it can be used as a guide - if the road looks wet and there is no whine - you're driving on black ice!
Suggest you consult the website - tirerack.com - for their surveys and reports as well as their prices. Also look at their winter tire packages.
I prefer my snows on separate rims (steel) as the salt is murder on the alloy wheels. It also makes the changeover very simple - 30 mins with the jack and it's done.
If I was buying snows again I would pick either the Michelin Pilot Alpin or the Blizzak WS50 - because they both have a more aggressive tread pattern and would give better snow traction.
Get some local prices and then call Tirerack to compare - for my wife's Golf I purchased from Tirerack - it was cheaper all around - the tires arrived, mounted and balanced, on my front step in a week. If I had bought locally I would have been nickled and dimed for valves, mounting and balancing on top of the price of the tires. (For your info - if using Tirerack - there is no import duty if the tires have been manufactured in North America - just GST and PST.)
Happy winter driving.
