Hi y'all-
I recently bought (2 weeks ago)1996 SE Turbo w/ 64K on it. Last week the check engine light went on so I called the used car dealer about it. He wanted to make sure it was not a bad batch of gas that was causing the light to go off so I accomidated him and ran that tank, filled it up and ran it again.....still have the light. The guy at the dealer said that I needed to disconnect the battery for the light to go off. True? Also, I'm getting like 19-20 mpg on a 30 mile round trip commute 50/50 highway. Sound low? Is there a connection between check engine and fuel ecconomy? I just want some info/ammo beofre I call that guy again and he tells me something else. Thanks guys.
