I ended up searching the old posts (new to this site) and saw there were a lot of posts for this. I plan on trying a few things tomorrow (check relays, wire harness, wires at seat bend, etc) but most of these seem to deal with the seats not working at all, which is what my seats are doing sometimes too. The problem that is worrying me is the seat having a mind of it's own and resetting while I'm driving. Does anyone know if the relay or wire harness problems could cause the seat to automatically reset itself? Just curious. I'm wondering if I do reconnect a relay or connector if the other problem will become more prominent. I did see a couple posts about the seats moving on their own but I didn’t see a solution to any of these posts.
If it helps anyone here is my timeline on my seats:
o Bought the car two years ago, both seats didn’t worked on the test drive
o Should have known then!!
o The dealer “fixed” them before getting car checked out
o The passenger seat would fail every so often (after about a year)
o At first just the back of the seat adjustment would fail
o If you adjust the bottom of the seat up the back
would then work
o Then the whole seat would die
o Drivers seat stopped working completely (back and bottom – dead)
o Recently the possession slipped in when it resets to very close to the
dash (wife’s setting I believe)
