My 96 900 had sudden electrical problems(windows didn't work,no horn, etc)It started making a grinding noise. Then it died and wouldn't start. The problem was a sticking ignition switch. The dealer said putting it on the floor is a poor design since spilled drinks there can ruin the switch. Also costs a lot to fix vs switch on console.
