Voltage to high. Most regulators go between 13.8-14.5 volts. Yours is at 14.5 plus. Get it ckecked cold or hot (hot will read .2 volts less) Also impleent a water check on the battary. A lead acid battary will boil out the water at 14.4 volts and higher.
The Fix: new regulator in alternator and while your in there replace diode pak.(any alternator shop can do but might need to order parts so take it in and have them order parts first...
Odd fix. Add 30' of wire to lamps. This will drop the voltage enough to fix short lamp life.
Remember lghts burn out when they are switched on. They go froma low resistance to a high resistance as they heat up.
Turning on the lights before you start engine will help.
