Loose tie rod clamp

I was hearing noises on the front end, getting ready to shell out the money for new struts, mounts and rear shocks.
As I was looking at them today I heard a squeak and rattle as I moved the wheel back and forth, with the motor off.
I found the clamp for the the tie rod adjustment was loose, and the thread was rattling loose! I really had to get on it to tighten it, I think it may have been left loose when the front end was aligned??? Only the driver side was loose.
Its tight and quiet now. Something to look for.
