Another Saabnet member recently posted:
"I have noticed just recently that the gas pedal on my '97 900SET isn't as smooth as it used to be. Seems like it is sticking - moves as if there several 'notches' until it is full-on. It isn't extreme to the point where it affects the acceleration - that is still smooth. But the action of the pedal isn't as good as I remember it being."
Well, I am experiencing the exact same problem on my 1995 900S, although probably much worse. I took everyone's suggestions and cleaned the throttle body, lubricated the throttle body wing/valve shaft, lubricated the cable returns and mechanisms which are linked via cable to the gas pedal, and I lubricated the workings down by the gas pedal as well. No luck. My right foot is numb from the "sticky" gas pedal. It's starting to drive me insane... all these horrifyingly long Los Angeles commutes with constant use of the gas pedal... aaaaaah help. What else could it possibly be? It's really only "notchy"/"sticky" when the car is on, not so much when it is off. The gas pedal is so smooth in every other car I drive! Not to mention of course or new 9-5 Arc SportWagon!
Please help!!! Anything!!!
