CEL On But All Seems Normal Posted by BristowBob [Email] (#239) [Profile/Gallery] (more from BristowBob) on Wed, 26 Apr 2006 18:30:34 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi All. Sorry - I missed another meeting due to a business trip to Baltimore. Nothing personal, guys - I'd like to make a meeting again sometime. I'm off to Durham, NC on business this weekend.
Hey, I wanted to share a strange observation with my '05 9-3ss. I filled up with the new 10% ethanol blend gasoline just before leaving for Baltimore Sunday morning - BP Amoco Ultimate (93 octane) at Somerset Crossing in Gainesville. I didn't notice any difference until today while driving home. The check engine light came on, but there was no SID display. Everything seemed normal. I checked several things under the hood - no visible or audible problems. One thing I did note - slight increase in mileage and power - not the "limp mode" the Saab owners manual says you should experience with the CEL on. Once again, no SID display. Aero Dave on the Saabnet 9-3ss board describes a similar experience in his 9-3ss. I filled up at the New Baltimore Shell tonight (V-Power), so we'll see if there is any change.
Anyone here notice anything with your Saabs? Especially the OG/NG 9-3s?
Bob
