Big Gary Oldman fan here..overall thumbs up, but pretty even keel - not many highs or lows...a little boring in some spots and a long movie. To understand what is actually going on with all the double agent stuff and scene switching from past and present...you really need to stay on the ball or have prior knowledge of the era, or have read the book very carefully. Too much work for entertainment for me. It was described by one reviewer as " you better have a rewind button because you will need it ( do to the confusion ) and you should also have a fast forward button ( for the monotony & length of the film ).
