Depends on who you talk to. I have heard the "no wax" for a few months, but the shop I work at waxes every car before it leaves, and we use wax and a foam pad after compound buffing to remove the swirl marks. I've only been there a few weeks, but they've been doing it this way for years(30+).
Not many shops use enamel anymore, as urethanes are the paint of choice.
I have even read that it is not recommended to wax new car finishes for the same reason. I don't believe auto manufacturers bake the finish on either.
