Many Klasse veterans will use mulitple layers of Sealant Glaze (SG). This offers more protection, and will obviously last longer than a single application. It also yields a fantastic finish. You should wait at least 12 hours to allow the glaze to cure before attempting to layer it or top it with a wax - although more time may be necessary based on colder temps or higher humidity.
You should be careful when applying SG - use it very sparingly, or you will have trouble polishing off the excess. This is the biggest complaint amongst Klasse newbies. Some detailers put the SG in a small pump bottle to mist the product onto the car, then use a foam applicator to spread evenly (some even use a pad on a random orbit polisher). The real key is a very thin and even application.
A lot of folks don't bother to put wax on top of SG. SG is very durable on it's own and looks good. If you do top the SG, be sure to use a wax with NO cleaning agents in it. A cleaner wax will remove some(but not all) of the SG - this will degrade the look and durability. Meguiars #26 high tech yellow wax has no cleaners in it and is readily available in auto stores. Mother's also has a pure carauba wax available OTC. p21s and s100 are also very good pure waxes - more difficult to find (try a Harley dealer), but with the added bonus that they do not stain black plastic trim!
FYI - check the condition of your paint before using AIO. Rub a few panels with your hands. If you feel grit embedded in the paint, you should use a claybar on the car first. AIO (Klasse All In One) is a non-abrasive chemical polisher/paint cleanser, and won't remove most of this contamination. Claybar kits can be found in most auto supply stores.
Sorry to be so long winded...but if you're going to do this project, do it right. Proper surface prep is the key to a great finish!
