When you remove the decals you will see the finish under them has been well-protected and should shine really well. If there is a lot of difference between those areas and the the areas that have been exposed you will need to use a light coumpound to get the shine back. Flitz metal polish works great with a buffing wheel, just be careful not to burn the gelcoat. Finish up with a good quality wax, such as collunite. Any product that says boat will cost you more. Another tip....use easy off oven cleaner to remove the adhesive if the heat gun doesnt get it all off.....
