You left the DG on for 8hrs? I didn't think that was a requirement - I usually apply to two panels, buff the first, apply to a third, buff the second, apply to forth, buff the third .... etc.
Have you tried a little detailing spray?
Search here you might find a poster who details with a mix of water / SG?
(there may be an art to that).
It can be a bitchy kitty to get off, you might also try dampening your applicator and re-rubbing then immediately buffing.
You certainly need a dry finishing buff.
Good luck! As it is now you got some SERIOUS protection.
Don't give up on the SG - thin coats!
