Silicone Lube Spray on Dash - Oops. Posted by B Millar [Email] (#1109) [Profile/Gallery] (more from B Millar) on Tue, 6 Oct 2009 07:07:11 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I was trying to get rid of a squeak caused by the little panel with the solar sensor and alarm LED in the dash of my 9-5. I've used silicone spray before without any issues so I stopped at the hardware store and got some more yesterday. I sprayed a few drips under the cover where the tabs lock in, but I got about 5 drips on my dash! They left little white spots that won't come off!! Of course I read the directions on the can AFTER this happened and this particular variety of silicone says "DO NOT USE ON INTERIOR AUTOMOTIVE PLASTICS." Ugh. Any suggestions to get rid of the spots? Thanks.
