Using a Mac G3 - 350 Mhz - Os 9.2 - Outlook Express with an ADSL connection :
being really pissed off with mail spam, I begin to use a software called : SpamFire.
You open it, it goes on your server, and activate a lot of filters that you have settled at your preferences .... then it keeps the "good mail" on your server and present your "spammail" on
a really nice page on your desktop. Then you decide to delete those one by one, or delete all.
Or, even, you are able to save a mail , and it sends this one back to your server ... so, when you'll go to your server with your usual mail soft ( OE, Eudora, etc ... ) it will show you only the good mail and the ones you'll have saved.
I won't be able to live without SpamFire anymore ... it costs about 35 $, with a year of filters update free at charge.
But this is for Mac ... I know this exists for PC's under windows and Linux too.
For me, it seems that you need a spamkiller/filter.
