The only complaint I have about my Viggen is that the ride quality can be somewhat brutal. The ultra-stiff suspension means you feel a bit like the Princess and the Pea - you feel every ripple or crack in the road, not to mention the deeper potholes. This can be helped a little by upping the tires from 215/45-17 to 225/45-17 for a little more sidewall.

Another thing to just be aware of is that the stock Viggen rims a easily bent, so keep the tire pressure up and just be careful. I finally just replaced mine with the BBS RK's the dealer's have been offering recently.

Now that the negatives are out of the way, everything else about the car is great! Tons of torque, an eye magnet on the streets, seats more comfortable than the ones in your living room, and just about every option that SAAB offers preinstalled. I'm approaching 25K miles with no major problems - more fit & finish issues with some of the cheaper aspects of the interior but all have been fixed under warranty.

If you are buying from a dealer, do yourself a favor and extend the warranty out to 100K, or get it certified. If buying from an individual don't buy it without full maintenance records and a going over by your favorite indy SAAB mechanic. As my car approaches the warranty cut-off date I plan on purchasing additional warranty. The cars are reliable but you gotta take care of them.

Good luck,

John
