The Catera (Opel Omega) was roomy and handled well but was fraught with problems. Electrical bugs were legion and the V-6 (similar to the one in the 9-5) had a harmonic balancer that would self-destruct and take the rest of the engine with it.
The rest of the Opel line has always been a second-tier car compared with its domestic competition. The new Vectra (platform shared with the 9-3) has gotten some good initial reviews, however.
We will be getting a Holden in the form of a Pontiac. We'll see how it stacks up.
