Years ago I had a Honda and always used the Bosch Micro Edge (then the II). They worked great. Thinking they ought to still be great on my Saab (and they DO get a lot of recommendations, here), I found the performed very poorly. I tried a couple sets, both bad right from the start, and they were expensive to boot.

I have tried a silicon coated blade that was pretty good, but didn't last long before turning to mediocre. I don't forget the brand though, it was not the Sil-Blade, which I hear is great.

I have also tried Trico Exact Fit, which was NOT an exact fit, and in fact, required parts that came from the Bosch blades to fit at all. So far that's lasted the longest and kept it's performance for longer than the others.

I used to be a big fan of Rain-X - until my commute dropped to sub Rain-X speeds for 99% of the way. In that case, all it did was cause smearing, no matter how much I buffed it out. Plus, not only did it's true effectiveness wear off after a few weeks, but then it stayed ON the windshield forever. So, once it's no longer slick, the water doesn't bead up and roll off, but you still get the smearing, for at least six months! No thanks! I still like it for the side and rear windows, though.

All the wiper blades I've tried work much better without any Rain-X on the windshield.

Oh by the way, I live near Seattle. :)
