In 1973 Saab offered three models in the US - the L, LE and EMS. The L was carbureted, the LE had fuel injection and the EMS added alloy wheels. Which one is yours?
I actually found the original brochure for the '73s when cleaning out the basement of my parents house. What memories.
The chronic problems with mine were the hydraulic clutch (British made), the electric cooling fan and the air conditioning (at total POS design). The soft trim (i.e. interior) is not very durable. I remember that that car had really spooky handling with those skinny tires and FWD. It defined the word understeer.
As for an offer, consider the cost for repairing the carpet/headliner, which may not have original replacement parts available. I would be wary of any rubber/plastic parts. If the car is mechanically sound, about $1000-$1500 would be about right.
