You are an idiot.
The 9-3 Convertible coming in September is stunning, has very little, if any, GM styling cues, and has received rave reviews from automotive journalists. This is an especially strong case since Saab spends peanuts compared to BMW and Audi in regards to magazine advertising, yet even taking this corporate publishing bias into consideration, it has received critical acclaim.
Concerning the upcoming 9-7 and 9-2, while they share platforms, they have proven to be distinctly Saab. You have obviously failed in researching more about these models as early sketches and dealer reviews of prototypes have proven that there is plenty of Saab heritage in them. Visually speaking, they have no resemblance to their Trailblazer and Subaru counterparts.
And why bash platform sharing? Every automaker has to integrate platforms across corporate identities in order to survive. VW has done it to their Porsche Cayenne, Lexus has always done it with their ES300, the list is infinite. The secret is not to make it obvious, and up to this point, GM has excelled in this area with Saab's current portfolio, and apparently, will continue to do so with future development as well.
Have a nice drive home in your S40.
Cheers
Jose
