I'm not necessarily looking for inexpensive this time around. What I like about the VooDoos especially, is that you can get in the case and upgrade the video card, processor and other things. Its not as disposable. Thats unheard of with Dell and notebooks in general. The upgrading issue for me is the biggest, since with a desktop you can always upgrade/replace your video card, sound card, processor without having to buy a whole new box. My current 3yo Dell Inspiron still works great BUT I can't play newer games on it due to my crappy video card and now the on board sound is funky, so even when hooked up to speakers it "static-y". I've looked into it, but there is no way to upgrade w/o buying the entire motherboard -- if you can find one anymore!
Plus the shiny colors are nice too. :) Shiny pretty colors.....
It sounds like VooDoo has excellent support compared to Alienware, but maybe not as good as Dell. Then again, I've owned 2 Dell notebooks and 2 Dell desktops and we've only had the repair guy here twice. Generally we just fix problems on our own.
I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with the machines or the company. I think I'm going to buy the VooDoo because it has the larger screen and better (and upgradable) graphics card.
Thanks :)
